Home to the Dukes of Brittany in the Middle Ages.
Situated on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean in Sarzeau, it was listed a historic monument in 1840 (when it was in ruins).
For the Dukes of Brittany, it was there summer residence.
In 1965, the Morbihan district council bought the château and began its restoration.
This monument is open to the public and is used for exhibitions and a few events during the summer.
